Library and academic support for Augusta University nursing students
Augusta University supports its nursing students through two libraries, a writing center that serves the whole university, the CLASS tutoring center, Testing and Disability Services, counseling from SCAPS with Uwill teletherapy, and Career Services on Handshake. Several of these reach online DNP students wherever they live in Georgia or South Carolina.

Reese Library and Greenblatt Library
Augusta University has two libraries. Reese Library serves the Summerville campus, and Greenblatt Library serves the Health Sciences campus, where the College of Nursing's Health Sciences Building sits. Nursing students draw on both, and for online students the library's website is the way in.
Two tools matter most from a distance. The GALILEO databases give you the journals behind a literature search, and the LibKey Nomad browser extension points you to full text when you land on an article elsewhere on the web.
The DNP Project is where the library earns its keep. NURS 7150 and NURS 8550, the two evidence-based practice courses that open the project sequence, depend on a solid search, and the handbook's project courses build on it through NURS 9062. Ask a librarian early how to structure and save your searches, so the evidence table you build in year one still works when you write up the project.
The Center for Writing Excellence
The Center for Writing Excellence belongs to the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences but works with students across the whole university, graduate nursing students included. It offers one-on-one consultations in person and online, with a location in Allgood Hall on the Summerville campus and another on the Health Sciences campus, booked through its online scheduler.
DNP students write a great deal for audiences outside their courses. The handbook asks for an executive summary of one to two pages for the project site's leaders, a presentation of 20 to 30 minutes on the College of Nursing template, and a poster near the end of the graduation semester. A consultation before each of those drafts is time well spent, and the DNP residency guide explains where the project hours fit.
CLASS tutoring and VCLASS online
The Center for Learning and Academic Support Services, known as CLASS, calls itself Augusta University's comprehensive learning and student success center. Its online arm, VCLASS Online Academic Support Services, is the version built for students who study from home, which describes most DNP students between campus visits.
Check the CLASS pages for the subjects and hours offered in your term. BSN and CNL students preparing for licensure also buy HESI resources under CON14, and CLASS is a natural place to ask how to pair those with study support.
For NP students, the terms with the most clinical hours also carry a full course load. In the full-time plans each practice course runs beside a didactic course for the same population, such as NURS 8318 with NURS 8317, so arrange support before a 240-hour term starts rather than after its first exam.
Testing and Disability Services
Testing and Disability Services exists, in its own words, so that qualified students with disabilities get equal access to their education. You start by registering with TDS, and accommodations are then handled through its AIM portal.
Register before the term you need the accommodation, not after an exam goes badly. College of Nursing exams run through ExamSoft and Examplify, and online exams need a proctor you arrange yourself under CON25, so an accommodation has to fit that setup; the student tools guide explains how exams run. Clinical settings raise their own questions, so ask TDS and your course faculty together how an approved accommodation applies at a clinical site before your first shift. If your needs change partway through the program, go back to TDS rather than settling on an informal arrangement with one instructor.
Counseling through SCAPS and Uwill
Student Counseling and Psychological Services, or SCAPS, supports the mental health of Augusta University students from two offices: one on the Summerville campus and one in the Student Center on the Health Sciences campus. The SCAPS page explains how to book an appointment.
For students who live far from Augusta, SCAPS also offers Uwill teletherapy, which lets you meet a counselor online. After hours, SCAPS points students to the Georgia Crisis and Access Line, listed on its page. Teletherapy also spares you a long drive to campus between clinical shifts.
Graduate clinical years are demanding, with long shifts, travel to sites and exams stacked in the same weeks. Using counseling early is part of staying on track, not a sign of falling behind.
Career Services and Handshake
Career Services runs Handshake, the university's portal for on- and off-campus jobs, events and appointments. For an NP student the useful moment is the final year, when NURS 9192 puts you in full-scope practice and you start thinking about where to work once you are certified. Handshake's events listings are worth watching in your last two terms for employers recruiting in your region.
Preceptors and clinical sites are part of your professional network too. A preceptor who knows your work can speak to it better than anyone, so treat each rotation as the start of a professional relationship.
