Metro Atlanta's big systems run request portals with fixed windows, some expect the preceptor to be arranged before any request, and rural counties lean on community health centers. A guide opens with its counties, towns and head count, then names the hospitals and systems as they are called today and reports, system by system, whether an outside NP student will find a published door. After that come the federally funded clinics and the shortage maps, because the counties HRSA flags are often the ones where a clinic can take a learner, and the last section pairs local settings with each of Augusta University's four NP tracks.

Questions Augusta University students ask
Do I need to train near Augusta?
No. Augusta University's rule is about the state you live in, Georgia or South Carolina, not distance from campus. The only regular campus time in the FNP, AGACNP and PNP tracks is the MEGAI intensive.
Which Georgia health systems use ACEMAPP?
Most Georgia systems that publish a student process use ACEMAPP for requests, Wellstar among them. Each region guide says which systems use it and which have their own process or publish none.
Are rural Georgia counties covered?
Yes. The Heart of Georgia Altamaha, southwest, south Georgia and mountain guides walk through their small-town counties, the federal shortage labels on them and the health center sites that tend to welcome a nurse practitioner learner.
What about students living in South Carolina?
They have four guides of their own under South Carolina regions: the Midlands across the river, the Upstate, the Pee Dee and the Lowcountry.
