Macon's systems, Houston Healthcare and what they publish

Atrium Health Navicent runs The Medical Center in Macon, Navicent Baldwin in Milledgeville and Navicent Peach in Fort Valley. No Navicent page for NP students turned up. Atrium Health's central page for advanced practice students, in a copy archived in February 2026, sends every APP student through its Center for Advanced Practice, wants applications at least three months ahead, reports a moratorium on new clinical education agreements and gives its own teammates priority. The page does not say whether it governs Navicent.

Piedmont owns Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North. Piedmont credentials all students through ACEMAPP, and an archived copy of its orientation page lists request windows in August for spring, February for summer and April for fall, with a named Macon representative. Its 2021 guidelines, an older document, say Piedmont itself assigns preceptors for preceptor rotations.

Houston Healthcare, the hospital authority behind Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins and Perry Hospital, showed no NP or APRN student page when research looked in September 2026. Treat it as a landmark, and ask your course faculty whether an agreement exists.

Shortage scores and what they mean by track

Baldwin County's low-income primary care designation scores 21, the region's highest. Bibb, Peach, Pulaski, Twiggs and Wilkinson each score 20, Crawford and Peach are also geographic shortage areas, and HRSA counts four correctional facility designations here. For primary care students, need is documented in every county.

Mental health tells the same story. Every county is covered: the low-income catchment for River Edge in Bibb, Jones, Monroe and Twiggs scores 20, the Phoenix catchment for Crawford, Houston and Peach scores 16, and Baldwin, Putnam and Wilkinson fall under the Oconee Community Service Board area. With mental health providers short across the whole map, PMHNP students do well to approach outpatient practices and community settings alongside hospitals.
